The Whitley County Historical Society is a non-profit educational organization. New members are welcome. Membership dues (as of Jan 1, 1998) are $15.00 per year (subject to change).

The Bulletin is published by the Whitley County Historical Society, quarterly: March, June, September and December and is mailed to all
Society members. The Bulletin is intended to bring to light and preserve stories, articles, anecdotes, account of personalities and events, and
pictures, all relating to Whitley County and its history. Contributions are encouraged. Single copies of The Bulletin are available at the
Whitley County Historical Museum or by mail for $4.00. The Bulletin prints an annual index of names and articles.

The Whitley County Historical Museum is located at 108 West Jefferson Street, Columbia City, Indiana 46725 in the former home of Vice
President Thomas R. Marshall: "What this country needs is a good five cent cigar." A
Curator and other staff members are available to assist you. The Curator's
Report appears in each issue of The Bulletin. A new annex located behind the Marshall Home has recently been
dedicated. The annex houses a storage area and The Bulletin office upstairs along with exhibition space on the
first floor which includes a Native American woodland wigwam.

Regular membership is open to men and women 18 years of age and older who prove one or more of his or her
ancestors meets the qualifications of an Indiana Pioneer. An Indiana Pioneer is one who lived within the present boundary of an Indiana county on or
before December 31 of the qualifying year for a particular county. The qualifying year for Whitley County is 1840.
